The Housewives Tarot

Divination using iconic 1950s advertising art.

Thanks to [info]theotherqpc for the link. I could play with this all night.

(Warning: all-Flash site. But very cool).

it's fun being a domestic whore!

incidentally, i'm listening to a song by a local band right now that features the refrain "i want a house and a rock and a baby in my belly"

That's pretty cool! I'm tempted to buy one, but I already have one deck I use all the time (although not as much as I used to) and one I hardly use at all. It's a fun site to play with, though. :)

Oh those are great. A couple people on my FList need to see this...

That's great! Thanks for posting it. Now, I steal the link and post it myself. :)
It is fun, and the art is fabulous. Now if I can only stop playing with it!

This is wonderful. As a housewife of 2 weeks now, I needed to see this. I want to make all the recipes on there.

Hee. If you like those, you should lay hands on a copy of this. Recipes straight out of '50s and '60s America, when garlic was considered an exotic spice ...

YES! I want!!! I've discovered a love for cooking, after avoiding it for so long. Allrecipes.com has become my favorite site on the internets.

Look for it used, on line or in used book stores. I promise you won't be disappointed. Most of the recipes are actually quite edible, if a little more lavish with the fat than you'll find in modern recipes. And if you ever wanted to throw a classic 50s style cocktail party (I have) this is where to find your hors' d'ouevres!

Heh. That book, combined with Morgan's martini expertise, would make for a kick-ass 50s party. :-)
